Don't clean 'em! Just add 'em to your cache....makes the hobby more eyepopping to the newbie when you show 'em off! Curiosity thing..... clean up your silver ones. :yikes: :pulltab:

I use a cheap hobby rock tumbler. Fill about half full with aquarium gravel, pour in a shot glass of household ammonia, pour in a shot glass of liquid dish detergent, dump in the coins, cover the coin and gravel mix with hot water, and tumble for 12 to 24 hours.

If you use this method be sure to clean the pennies separate from the silver colored coins. The pennies will stain the rest of the coins.

I use an old wire mesh wastebasket to separate the gravel from the coins after cleaning.
