not only would Vern be in a world o' crap and lose one o' his fine rifles and have to go to counceling. But Sarah would then be labeled with 3 names and be on the front page of her local paper.

Great post...she will remember this, and I'm sure lots of everything about you and what you taught her...someday, she will be telling her kids about this day...
We homeschooled too...our daughter is 30...(with no ill effects)...life is about making memories with the ones you love...
