:clapping:The ACE 250 "IS" Really That Good! :clapping:

Did a couple of snow hunts on snow hills where both kids and adults play. They slide down the hills on sleighs, toboggans, skis, snowboards, pieces of cardboard and even garbage bags. And they lose the darnedest things. The ACE was my weapon of trash reduction for this challenge, and it worked flawlessly. I put on the usual hot pac over the batteries, then covered it with the camo jacket. Only the strong audio, repeatable in all 4 directions regardless of probable conductivity were dug, and I was rewarded with a nice Apple IPOD, a can of COKE, headset for a phone, a pair of MAFIA glasses, a couple of working lighters, a coupe of Tylenol and a whole pile of loot. Most of the targets were in the top 2-3 inches of snow with the exception of the IPOD, which was down about 8 inches.

And you know what? The IPOD works!

Man that's great! I am ready for tomorrow. My new Ace 150 will be here tomorrow. Hope i can do half as good.

I work about a 0.7 position, and pick up extra shifts usually on weekends, working my favorite areas at the beginning of the week when every one else is back to work. :)

you almost found everything there for a mini vacation.:rofl:

WTG John!! Awesome that the ipod works!!

Nice loot John. I might go out tomorrow. The weather looks fair so I shouldn't freeze my ACE off. :spin: Do you just scan the base of the hill or all over?

I'll give her a whirl tomorrow. Check out a few schools then maybe a hill. There isn't really a lot of snow around here right now. I'm gathering up R.M. maps and doing some research on one room school houses over the winter. I hit one just before freeze up and got a little taste. A 30's G.V copper, a 28 quarter and a 43 Tombac nickel, my first, along with a few 40's/50's pennies. I've only checked out a few of these schools (empty sites actually, were a one room school once stood) and they seem to be hit or miss. Many country folk were hard for coin in some areas. I'm also buying a Tesoro Tejon in a week or so and going for fur trade relics, if I can get permission on some private land sites. I still love my ACE with the 9x12 and will still be using it a lot this year. The ACE has found me some great coins and relics, and I've never looked down my nose at it.

I got a bunch of clad John, loonies, a twoonie, some kids rings and a .925 silver band. I'll pop in a pic when I'm less lazy, have to resize etc. It was around zero and a cold wind.
