I took the classic 1 wader out and found my first gold and silver.I now can do land and lakes.
I open the otter box after hunting and still not leaks. The otter will make a good water detector case.

Cool! Nice finds!
So are you actually jumping into a lake and hunting "under" the water? Detector and all? Even the headphones? Or are you just hunting like we normally do along the edge of the water but your set up is made so you really dont have to worry about water damage to the unit? <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

I can go into the water up to 5 feet. My headphones are not waterproof. The metal detector otter mox is rated at 100 feet.If I had waterproof headphones I would rate my detector at 1/3 the otter box rating or over 30 feet. That is deeper then I will go under water. <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> This is set up like the fisher 1280 Wader Detector but at 1/6 the price.

why you do not try to use a led instead the headphones? King Bright is pretty good... turn it in series of resistor of comparator's input-output and it would be Ok. <img src="/metal/html/glasses.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":geek:">

I know that will work but I like sound.
The fisher wader been around a long time.
I will get A PI unit if I do a lot of water hunting.
I Don't water hunt much in Neberaska.
