one day by accident I spilt some round up which is weed poison in an old tool box, to my amazement the old rusty tools came up almost like new, they were in the stuff for about 3 days I just rinsed it of and there they were,,the poison is also known as glyphosate 400

And of course no decent tool should be on display - it should be used. Put that wrench to work!

Yeah, at first I was thinking WD-40, CLR or even electrolosis. Whadda's got me thinkin' now. I'm gonna pick up some Roundup next time we hit WallyWorld. I'll try it out on some of my rusty finds. I've never heard of that one, whadda. Thanks for the info.

there is an easy way to clean up rusty finds using a car battery charger, or smaller dc charger for smaller items. Its called electrolytic cleaning. If you would like more info, I can put you on to a source or two.

very easy actually.. look it up on utube, theres a few vids there. Takes a battery charger, plastic pail, some water and baking soda and a sacrificial metal. Removes all the rust. If there is pitting, it stays, but otherwise it works well.
