Cleaning clad

nate-wi

New member
here is the scoop, I had a large batch of clad coins that needed cleaning, so I tumbled them in an bleach/kaboom tile cleaner solution and it did little. What is the best solution to clean you coins. I use the same solution for both silver clad coinage and pennies. Please help me out.
Thank y ou and HH,
Nate-WI

Fill the tumbler with some aquarium gravel, water, a good shot of lemon juice ,a squirt of dish soap and of course the coins tumble them for an hour or two and they should be clean enough to spend. They will have a slightly darker finish but nothing terrible. Maybe you could tumble a little more and that would go away. Keep the silver clad seperate from the copper. Double check to make sure there are no wheats in the pennies. I tumbled one buy accident and it came out looking like a brand new zinc penny. (Yikes LOL)
