Cleaning Coil

Hi everyone! I am new here but have been trying to read as much as possible.
I have a question, I have a Safari I purchased used and I want to clean the coil as the sticky on top says to do. My question is there seems to be a little plastic cover on the bottom does that just pop off? I have the stock coil
Thanks I really appreciate it!!
Dan

Thats a protective cover for the coil, and it pops off. Follow ngrelics instructions, you will usually find some dirt in there. Armor all works well to keep your machine clean, and it also helps to repel dirt.

The coil cover peels off - just go slowly - it's made of pretty tough plastic. I clean mine after every use - Minelab says a long term dirt build up will throw the reading off.
Also notice that the coil cover does have a cut out on one side for the wire connector - so it can only go back on one way.
Then I use Andy's tip of spraying Armor-All on the bottom of the coil cover so it slides along the ground easier - this does seem to help a little !
