Aloha fellow pirates, well i spent a while in the water today in a favorite spot of mine. Water was murky and i walked around for hours " cleaning up the trash". I say that because i found one junk kids ring, a few wieghts, pull tab, beer can parts, 3 quarters,1 nickel, 6 pennies, and a few machinery pieces. Cleaning up, so that next time more targets are Treasure and not trash..... good way of thinking about it?.. huh?.. makes the day seem a better use of time other than saying," i Got twiddly today"..lol. Can say though, i did have a fun day in the surf. Got sun, exercise... watched people learn to surf. Shaka Mikey

We all have days like that Mike :) A beach is always changing one day the goodies are there and the next tide change all thats there is 2 feet of new sand ;)

It's good that you like the thrill of the hunt, because you will have many of those type hunts Mike. Keep cleaning things up and try different venues, perhaps your luck will change mate.

Yesterday was a good day to clean up trash. I cleaned up trash for 7 hours. started to leave twice but I know at this time of year at galveston the sand moves so much and so many times during the day that if I'm patience enough that I'll start finding the good stuff. About 7;00 last night the coins and costume jewerlly started to appear, then a silver braclet, so I decided I was going to make a night hunt out of it also. As soon as it got dark the mosquitoes showed up. that was the end for me. had a good time met a new hunter with a excal ll. All said and done it was a good day didn't find any gold but still I got to do what I enjoy and on another day the gold will show up. HH willia

Hei Mike!
I clean trash for almost five months now and I am cool with it being in good health in nice beach water under sun. And each time I thank God for the gift of life. For the privilage of still being in it.

And yes, with each new bag of trash I think that I make my future detections here easier , or for other detectorists if I never come back again.

There is so much in this hobby to be positive about it that finding or non-finding gold is completely irrelevant.

I can buy any gold ring that can normally be found in the beach for 30 bucks from Ebay without leaving home. Like any of us.

Thrill of the hunt - is everything. End result (monetary) - nothing.

You are mature person. It is good.
