Good Question. Try calling Minelab Tech Support. Just a thought. I would also like to know.
Every web site I go to list it this way

explorer se-New technology processor - faster and more powerful
Faster and more powerfull than what??
It never states a processor speed and I was just wondering if its same processor and they dont wanta say,with only a couple hundred bucks difference in price cant b much more extra stuff in there besides the usb port
