Here is a very nice freeware program for calculating the inductance of coils. Its easy to use and it was very close to a real coil I made from its output.
You can specify parameters in different ways for single layer and multi layer aircoils.

That's where I found this calculator (see downloads).
Then try and go to "utils" and see some online calculators for different shapes of coils, like circular, triangle, squared, etc...cool!.
Lots of other good things on this page like hughes collection of filters, AWG converter and more.
Be aware that it runs better in Explorer compared to Netscape. :-(
