Coil connector on Sovereign 1000BBS

Hi,
I have a Original sovereign and it came with one of the ohm meters as a meter.
Well I dont like that set up and am looking for a sovereign meter but my question is It also has the 1000BBS loop.
Well when I disconnected the wire from the loop plug I noted that (no#5)pin has no wire...and looks like it never did. This is where the meter had a wire pushed in the plug. But should the coil have a wire that goes to pin5?I asked this on other forum also.
Thanks Paul
