Coil cover

dirt lizard

I just recieved my erotek pro from Bart at Bigboys assembled it and was wondering why my 8 inch coil does'nt have a cover for it. Are the Teknetics coils made to have no cover?

Coil covers are "Optional" with the Teknetics detectors, or to say if you want a coil cover you have to buy them extra.
Many people opt out of using covers on the newer epoxy filled coils, the upper pat of the housing has the winding laid into them, then while still upside down they're filled with the resin. So, the thinking of many people is that its not likely to actually ware through the resin seeing how thick it is so they just don't use a cover. But, keeping the coil covered does keep the bottom looking new and less used if later you decide to sell the unit.

The other problem is with a cover you have to keep them cleaned out and they can sometimes be a problem to get off without cracking them.
So, the cover is VERY optional.
