Coil covers

steve in so la

Well-known member
I need to buy a bunch of coil covers for my Fisher 1266 X. Who do you all deal with ? I go through about 2-3 a year even tho they are very tough. thanks, Steve

You know I use Al at Prostock, but you can try Jeff too! :)

Well, I have to say that you do a heck of a lot more digging than I do and you're dealing with some rough surface conditions... but I epoxied my coil last year with a thick coat of the marine epoxy and then another coat of clear (5 minute) epoxy. It's pretty tough. I've dragged it over miles of beach and I'm only just starting to see some minor wear.

I have been thinking of that also. Maybe I'll do it with the new one and see how it fares. I have 3 new ones now but am looking down the line = especially as they no longer make my detector. Thanks, steve
