Coil Help

I have an Explorer Se Pro. I am wanting a larger coil to search fields and parks. Which coil would be the best for this situation, brand, size etc.......... Help from the veterans needed

I have a SE I upgraded with a Pro coil. After reading reports from Bryce and others, my next coil will be an SEF 10 x 12 from Kellyco. Hopefully Santa will bring me a set of Sun Ray headphones and a SEF coil.

It seems most manufactures believe a coil about 12 inches is the best choice or they wouldnt be putting them on their machines. I think most of us that have them agree. Which ever choice you make... be it Pro, SEF, Sun Ray you just have to look at the benefits, price, and negative aspects of the coil. Go to large and the downside will be the lose of smaller targets, EMI issues, and picking up deeper iron causing more nulling and less sensitivity of the coil. If that happend you might as well use the standard coil. Some of the guys i hunt with are finding the smaller coils.... like an 8 inch one to be a better choice in the fields. Unless the field has been turned under, those corn and bean stalkers are hard to work. The smaller coil gets down on the ground and works in there pretty good. You can run more sensitivity, pick up smaller targets and Hot Rocks dont seem to be nearly as bad. They seem to move just as fast and cover as much ground as i do. But... in a open park or clean field, i dont take my SEF off. Its just proven itsself.
