coil size?

I currenly am using a 1280x and want to buy a new CZ20 for water detecting in Fl, but need some feed back on the size of coil to order it with. This forum is a wealth of information so, I would like to get some pro and cons from people that have used both.

Rich, I to am considering a 20 and was wondering about coil size as well. I can not tell you from experience but only by what other people have told me when I posed the same question.
If you are strictly going to do beachs with the 20 then get the larger coil. Its a little heavier (you can hip mount the control box for lighter weight)for the larger coil will not only give you better dept (things sink fast and deep in sand)a larger coil will also give you a wider scan area thus covering more ground in less time. BUT the larger coil may not be as sensitive to the smaller gold objects, earrings, thin gold chains, etc.

In the saltwater the smaller coil will handle the condition better but indeed not provide the coverage....Yep the larger coil is heavy on land but handles much better in the water..Remember all saltwater beaches are different and if you look around might find a forum used for this purpose to ask this question...
