COIL ?????????

More ground coverage which makes it a poor choice in trashy areas and a bit more depth than the stock or smaller coils. In my own detecting, I find much more use for stock and smaller coils than for the large ones and only use them when hunting open, clean areas.

I agree with Barber Bill 100%. Personally I don't own one. I do have the 18" X 3" Big Foot coil when hunting in large areas and it's lightweight, easy to swing and pinpoint. HH to all, Nancy

I got a 12" from White's for free when they accepted one of my stories/finds. Good thing too...I found it absolutely not to my liking. I had way better luck and performance with the 6X10.

It's a heavy coil, but would be good in large areas where there's very little trash and you can take your sweet time detecting. HH, Nancy

IM USING A 6x10 Now and have had good luck with it ,however i'm still in the learning stages with the mxt, love it so far guzz1

I can help with this question. The guy who made the Bigfoot for Jimmy Sierra died a couple of years ago and production came to a stop. I have heard that a few are being made now and are available on a very limited basis, but most of the Bigfoot market is the secondary market with used ones selling for more than new, list price. It is a great loop for covering lots of ground quickly.

I got the mxt300 off some old guy and it also came with a 4x6 all for $450, he only used it twice and i asked why he was selling it and i guess his health isnt doing to well, he told me he got some disease where his bones have started getting brittle and that the mxt300 with the big loop is to heavy for him.
But i will say the 300 is a heavy coil but it covers large amounts of land and it should only be used when in open fields and parks where trash is medium to low and its a bugger on mineralized soil. i find i use the little 4x6 even in open parks but i mainly got the detector for ghost towns. I just recently started detecting 2 months ago while i have time due to unemployment, i have had tons of fun with my mxt

You got yourself a heck of a good deal. Your MXT will pay for itself over and over again. The more you use it, the more you'll love it. HH, Nancy

i have mxt 300, & bought 4x6 at same time, used 12" coil 1 time was heavy , can't get much lighter than the 4x6 , hh.

I started using the 12" coil with my MXT extended all the way UGH! i have since then shortened it 2 notches and it works like a dream (watch wearing shoes with metal in them). I tried the 6X10 DD and found the super 12 more to my liking (depth and description readings were more accurate). It is a matter of taste i guess. No one will ever get my 4X6 off of me while i am still alive LOL.....

#1, and used probable 90% of the time, is the 5.3 Eclipse. I'm usually in trashy and/or brushy environments and this 5
