Coil

Has anyone ever used silicone to seal the coil wire where it goes into the coil. I think someone posted an article about this some years back.

Absolutely!
The way to do it is to not only seal where it goes into the coil, but also where the coil wire goes into the grommet above the entry point. This ensures that water won't seep down the wire past the grommet, and effectively waterproofs the coil.
Another thing that has been done, is to seal the entire coil (and a little way up the wire) with Flex-Seal™ spray.

Excellent OL.
Now how do I repair my favorite coil on my Oll MXT ?
The wire jacket dry rotted most of it's length.
I was thinking liquid tape. ???
