i currently run a 11" widescan coil on my vaquero and i 'm finding lots of goodies, but i just read on another forum that one should use a concentric coil for better discrimation when looking for coins and jewellery in parks and such.as i'm only chasing recently dropped targets,is the concentric going to find more,be it's a lot slower, covers less ground in a sweep . my question is this, which way should i go? i have both coils. blowfly hh:detecting:

I don't think your concentric is going to find more in relation to recent drops and/or shallow coins etc. In mild ground, the concentrics will give a bit more depth and the discrimination is usually a bit more accurate, but that doesn't sound like it's that important for the hunting you describe. My two bits.
