Coils for the Elite....

I have been looking at buying a larger coil like a 12.5 to 15" for my Elite. The choices seem to be Coiltek, Sunray and the Excellerator that the big"K" sells. All seem to be close in price $199-$230. What say ye? Are they all the same or who is best for the buck?

If size or weight is an issue, you may have a problem with coils larger than 12.5".

A big question for you.......where and for what purpose are you going to use it??? What will the hunting conditions be??

These coils can be distinctly different. For an example .....
The 12.5 Excelerator is not as good around trash and noise as the Sunray S-12, but is a beast in better locations.

The 12.5 is what I was looking at. Hunting would mainly in highly blk sand fresh water beaches, it does have trashy parts of the beach, bottle caps,pull tabs,iron,nails etc.Not much for brush areas have coin search for that.

For 12.5" coils, the S-12 would be better........
It looks at a thinner slice of ground than the 12.5 Detech Excellerator and also is not as hot so the S-12 should be a better choice around the black sand.
S-12 is also lighter.

If you are having significant problems from mineral conditions with your smaller coil you may not want to go to a larger coil......it may really choke.

You need to put some consideration into what you are doing.
Many will often simply ask about which coil is best without mentioning how and where they want to use it. There will invariably be responses from those who have their favorite ... again without consideration over differences in hunting conditions or without having tried different coils for a comparison.

You could end up wasting a lot of money and getting worse results than you had.
