Coils for Xterra 70

Vincentvgo

New member
I just bought a Minelab Xterra 70 from a guy and it came with everything that is normally included. I got two coils and I don't know much about either but the guy told me the round one was a standard all around coil. But there is another that is oval shaped and solid black. Being a newbie I would like info on these coils. Thanks

Check out FAQ section and you will find a chart on coils for the X-70. TomB

Like Tom said, check out the FAQ section. You have a 5x10 DD 18.75 kHz coil there...............MO

Hey Vincent

I too bought an Xterra and it came with both coils that you have. I was using the standard concentric coil for a while and then one day I tried the oval shaped one (5x10 HF coil) and I have not taken it off since then. It is awesome for finding tiny objects - I have found lots of coins and jewellery. Check out my videos especially the earlier ones where I showed the XTerra 705 in action (as opposed to the later ones where most of the footage is of me plucking out the targets :detecting: Also pinpointing is a breeze with that DD coil - again check out the videos

That HF DD coil is also good for the beach but BE WARNED - it is not submersible! The 9" concentric coil however is submersible (just the coil - not the Xterra box ok?)

All the best to you.

Cheers

I also bought the same package. Minelab market it as the 'Dual Pack'. Good value I think!

I should just say that Snoopy has premission to hunt the school's he detects.

Both coils are good for coins and relics but the oval DD coil rocks.
The DD is also great for gold nuggets.
Good luck, come back and show us your finds.
