Coils

Wet and Dry

New member
Could someone please tell me the difference between these two coils, Super 12 and the Eclipse Deepscan DD1400. If you can only have one , which is the better coil? Thanks

The super 12 is a concentric coil and the DD 1400 is a widescan or doubleD which is usually better in high mineralization as well as having a somewhat different detecting pattern. Either is good for covering more ground and getting more depth, but at the expense of weight and poor separation in trashy areas. In fact, in fairly heavy trash they could drive you nuts trying to keep up with all the signals. In my opinion, unless you often detect where mineralization is a problem the super 12 is probably the better choice, but that may just be me.
