And I can't wait to get one!

Figures though....we often have snow by the end of October, and in OZ summer is just starting.

Has there been a price mentioned for the 6 inch yet?

hope under $200

Me too!
But in all reality I'd be suprised if it weren't in the $249 neighborhood.

At Coiltek's website, you can click a box to see a list of dealers who handle their product. Some of them may even help sponsor this forum. Give "your favorite" dealer a shout and they should be able to answer your question. HH Randy

This is very interesting!

I enjoy my WOT 15"DD at 7.5kHz.Good coil it is,perfect on big areas.
The new 6" is nice. Will it work well on small thin silver coin like them we have in Europe?

Mike

question , im a little bit confused , is coiltek going to make a new 7.5 khz 15 inch coil new desing???? Just like the one that appears in coiltek webpage

http://coiltekmanufacturing.com.au/x-terra.html

thanks!!!!

As I understand it, the existing 15" MF WOT will remain unchanged. Only the new HF and LF WOT will get the new design.

We are the only global after market manufacturer of fully approved Minelab X-TERRA coils utilising the VFLEX technology. This fully waterproof coil has excellent depth capabilities, pinpointing easily with the tip of the coil or using the pinpoint function on the detector. The 15" X-TERRA has a new design and is available in all 3 frequencies

Old longhair yes there will be a new design on 7.5 khz wot coil http://www.findmall.com/read.php?55,1789137 just click the image to see it at full size , and you will see 7.5 khz on the coil " new design

Guess you're right! I missed that. Must be that they had some flex issues with the older more open design. I had heard that there were a few such complaints, but not so many that I'd have thought that they would make a change on an existing production model so soon after it's initial release. Good for us! And good of Coiltek to adapt and improve!

The old open design is good! Easy to clean and less mud sticks on it.Will the new design make the coil heavier??
Think its a stiff construction, havent had any problem with flex.

Mike

The old 15" 7.5 kHz coil weighs 24.8 ounces. The new 18.75 kHz coil weighs only one ounce more, at 25.8 ounces. And the new 3 kHz coil weighs 28.8 ounces.
All weight measurements include coil covers.

Glad to see they're onboard. I hope they come out with a lightweight 11" procoil similar to the Etrac's coil for the Xterra. The 15" are too big for areas I hunt.

I see coiltek named the 3khz 6" after you (DIGGER).

Pretty COOL!

I was thinking the same thing. But, I do wonder, if they are even allowed to do that as that would compete with the one Minelab makes. Also, a coil can make a detector MUCH better in performance and if that does happen, then it could cut into sales of their higher end units. We saw that happen for years with the Explorer line and how many stayed with their machine, but with newer and better separating coils. I mean, yes it was more than that (e.g., sounds), but a part of the equation were coils. Some pretty experienced detectorists like Bryce and Critterhunter are really into using coils in older units to raise the performance.

Hi all,

I am pleased that there is good interest for these new coils.

Just to add some comments, the new design is now going to be used for all the 3 frequencies for the 15" coil. The main reason we renewed the design is because we decided to go to injection moulding rather than the vacuum formed mouldings. The injection moulding allowed us to improve the consistency of the moulds and change the design to an attractive new look.

The design was not changed for any falsing issue which may have been mentioned previous. To be honest, we have not heard of many issues with the coils relating to falsing so if there were people having issues we have not heard about it.

Yes, the 6" coil is named after Randy who has done a fantastic job working in the industry especially for the XTERRA units. It was an easy decision to call it the DIGGER especially since he was one who asked us to produce this coil for a long time and I believe he helps so many people we decided to give something back to him.

We hope all who invest in one of these coils have great success and we look forward to hearing and seeing what you find.

Don't forget to enter our latest discoveries competition if you do have success and join us on Facebook and twitter!

Regards to all!

Thank you for joining in here and clairifying/verifying/confirming/correcting Trevor! Your word trumps any web gossip.

I do have yet another question. Am I correct that the new WOT coils will carry the same price tag as the former 15"? And can you tell us the MSRP/MAP for the 6" "Digger" yet? I'm personally getting my ducks in a row to order both, and it would help if I knew what to budget for.

Thanks again!!!

Gday :)

I just had to chime in and say .... Great coils from a great company dedicated to improving our metal detecting options
and there is now a 15" WOT for everyones taste and style of hunting
plus a nifty 6" LF for trashy spots

...Tis a good day for X-Terra lovers :clapping:

cheers
