That was to be expected, priced out of reach for some !!!

Not too much of a suprise. The previously released WOT was $329, so I figured that the new ones would be the same.
The 6" is actually lower than what I'd expected.

I'm sure they're great but I'm afraid the big coils are about $100 more than I'm willing to pay. Could almost buy a 305 for that much money. I guess I'll stick with my 10.5, which is no chump.

You can buy both a 6" DD and 10.5" DD coil combined for that price ($329.00) and they serve me just fine. Besides your finances, you have to consider the area you live in. In my area I've often found clad 6 to 8", but have yet to find silver of any type over 5" and that includes using the Safari, so really can't see the need for a larger coil.

In my opinion and circumstance, the prices except for the 6" coil, are too high and the coils are too big. I would need to see a huge difference in depth to even consider one compared to the 10.5" DD coil. I guess for those who hunt uncontaminated areas they would be good, but for park and yard hunting in my area, most of the times a smaller coil is needed over such a big coil. I know Digger said there were problems trying to develop a 11" pro type coil, but that would be the biggest coil I would consider and maybe someday they'll figure it out. Can't wait to hear from users who purchase them and their thoughts in the future though.

G'day :ausflag:

Super coils
I love a 15" WOT coil on my nice old XT70
My 1st one, the MF 7.5Khz paid for itself in 2 weeks of part time 3 hour hunts (all my new gear is funded from my finds of coins and jewellery)

IMHO ...a new improved design and keeping the pricing the same as before is quite reasonable
The 3 khz LF is exciting for our old silver pre decimal coins and the 18.75 khz HF will be great looking for gold rings
I now have the full set of Xterra WOT coils and have 100% belief in them

with the high price of gold at present the HF will be getting a swing or 2 or 3 or 4
happy swinging :)
