I found this coin today using my nox 800...it rang up as a 25 but is very corroded. I can make out a star on one side and some letters circling the rim on the backside. Any information would be much appreciated.

Hello there,
I would say it is a US silver three cent piece - also called a trime. Check the diameter of the coin. If it is a silver three cent piece it should be appx. 14 mm in diameter. Here is a link to more info.

I would say not silver but copper maybe some type of token or civil war token or a foreign coin.
