Hey everybody,
The ground here in Ohio has finally thawed enough that I was able to get out today. The ground was nice and soft wherever I dug, however, the holes would fill up with water after about a minute!. After one hour I finally got my first coin - a clad quarter laying on top of the ground - and was almost ready to leave when I got a nice 01-29 signal at 6-7 inches. It turned out to be a 1943 Washington quarter! After that I was pretty cold and left right away.
I hope you other northerners get a chance to detect soon, if you haven't already, and good luck to everyone! Thanks for looking.
