Colonial Hay Field finds and junk

CT Todd

Well-known member
Got out this afternoon for a couple of hours on a Colonial field I know it's colonial because the house next to it is 1760 and was a tavern and Inn. The best finds were two Drape Busts a 02 and a no date and one button. Please note the junk picture guys. With all my settings I'm still Diging it. I think some of the newer detectorists think it's just the pretty finds. It's not.
But is it worth it? I think so.

Nice digs. Yeah no doubt a person will dig some junk. But what if in the process of removing junk a prize find comes to light!!!!! And the ole gold coin or two.

In an old site as you were in----I'd dig all nonferrous signals as time permits.

But if only a one time shot----sure one can try to cherry pick.

And the Deus is better a cherry picking than some think.

Congrats on the great finds !

Two DBs in a single hunt is sweet. I agree 100% on the junk. If you are not digging any junk, you will be missing good finds...even with the Deus.

Great finds Todd...
