Colonial hunt plus some. No coppers....but

Went to a colonial site we hit before. Dan and I got some nice hits. We then hit an old house that I received permission to hunt. It was a dream location, until the neighbor said "the guy who owned this place dealt in scrap metal" :rofl:That hurts!!! My DFX chattered all evening long. But did get some nice silver out of it and amazingly, the copper Indian and Wheats clean up real nice. What a change that is! A great day, and I can't wait to get back to the house. Next time I'll try my E Trac for the trash separation and deep silver. We only had the stock 9.5" coils with us, and they were almost useless. I bet my 4x6 will help alot. HH everyone
 
Went back to the house for a couple of hours and did OK. It was DFX with a 4x6 coil vs the E Trac with 11" & 4.5x7" coils. Wanted to see which one was better:clapping: As expected, the 11" coil on the E Trac pulled up the lonely silver dime and some wheats. This was after the DFX was there with the 9.5" coil yesterday. The small 4.5x7" coil on the E Trac really didn't produce much of anything, so I tried the DFX with the 4x6" coil and got some more wheats and clad. Moral of this story is both machines find different targets. A DRAW at this site. Very iron laden site. The toy soldiers were a nice bonus. They look old around 1930's or 40's. The ground is excellent to the coins and relics. A bunch of other stuff round out the day. HH.

in it , We are flooded :yikes:

Did you go swimming???? :smoke: That must have been some rain! Takes a lot of rain here to flood our farm fields. Hope you get out soon.
 
Thanks. That 4x6 coil is a great little coil. Depth is not too bad. I think if I could run the Pre Amp on 4 it would go a lot deeper. But my coil doesn't allow that high a Pre Amp.
 
Went back to the old house for about 3 hours. Decided to hunt a very noisy area that has not really produced for me. It was close to the house, so it should have coins, but wall to wall signals, mostly iron. Tried my luck there anyways, and was rewarded. Previous copper coins have been in great condition, except for one zincoln that was very close to the house. I couldn't get it cleaned even with a brass brush. So..... guess where that large cent was laying?? Near the house. An 1851 in pretty bad shape, but I was in a copper drought:rolleyes: But not anymore:buds: Another Mercury and an early wheat, plus other stuff, round out this short hunt.
