Garrett came out with another 'AT' all-in-one machine many years back but it leaked badly, so it was taken off the market. I'm sure, with modern technology, they've got it right this time. The beauty of this detector is its ability to be used in wet environments and waterproof to ten (10'). Being that it list for $600+, that puts it in the 'Affordable' category, which is a + as well. For those who cannot afford the detectors from the Minelab stable, such as the Explorer, this detector will allow hunters to do-it-all, within the capabilities of the detector of course. Only time will tell if this unit is up to the task detectorist will subject it to but I think it's got a good chance of succeeding. I wish my Minelab Safari had been waterproof to 10' from day one but, as good as it is, Minelab hasn't seen fit to give us that capability yet. Maybe someday? There's been many good machines, by various manufacturers, brought to market but NONE of them have been waterproof. MaBetty's White XLT is a good detector but has a long learning curve to master its capabilities and, if there's one thing Garrett is known for, it's simplistics in opporation and user friendliness.
