Common silver coins in Sweden. And how a permission look like...

Very nice. Looks like you got a large area to have in.

Oh that's just one of 10 maps...:)
Unfortunately this area is 6 hour drive from where I live...well 5 hours if you go fast with the BMW..

Mike.

That's a nice lil pile of silver coins, wtg. I would say your going to be busy this summer finding old silver.

I found a sverice 25 from 1957 here in Washington state at a school grounds. I don't have to go to Sweden to find currency. Lol it looks just like the one in your pile. Keep the pics coming. What year and model bimmer?

We Swedes like to spread silver around the world..hahaha...
Oh,the bimmer is a 730iA-1993 in pristine condition. With a sweet little V8. But for daily use I drive my blue BMW 525i Executive-1995 also a really nice car ,the best I have had.Yes I like them old:)
And they take you where you want to detect, fast!!!

How hard was it to get permission? I live in Lomma and would love to get a permit for the beaches here- I would be grateful for any tips on how you went about getting the permission and who you contacted. It sucks having to drive to Denmark any time I want to do some hunting...here is a coin I found on Friday (Rvdolf II Double Schilling from circa 1608 ).

Nah, the fibula is Danafae so it will go to a museum in Denmark. But I can't complain, you get to keep a lot of what you find in Denmark including most coins made after 1536 (with the exception being gold and large silver). I have found many middle aged copper coins in Denmark (from 1200-1300). They are often of very low quality (most it is not possible to identify the coin), but the museum still wants them and gives a finder fee of 200 danish krona. But I guess you know all this already?

I joined the Odsherred detector club:
http://www.detektorforeningen.dk/

The chairman, Per Lars Christiansen, is a great guy. It seems he knows every farmer in Northern Sjaelland and has some form of Whiskey agreement with ALL of them;-) He is out detecting most days and always has nice (and new) sights to visit. If you are interested in joining the club, check out the link and send him a mail. I would like to go out detecting with other Swedes (besides my colleagues that I recruited) in Denmark, but there are not too many around that are into detecting.

One more find, this time from Dragsholm Slott (not danafae but pretty cool anyway)...Let's see more of your Swedish finds:)

Thats a beautiful ring! Medieval?? Very nice find!

Also like the Whisky agreement...haha..thats a good one.I visited the homepage.Nice page, looks like you have a great time on great land. And the finds are stunning. What can I show from Sweden, well nothing that is older then 100 years, beach and park finds,
Have great finds from England and Norway though.

Looks like you don't have much activity in the club this summer due to the schedule.Or is it just not updated? I like to join yes.Do u have land to go by your own or is it always together? I know, many questions asked but...

Mike

Yeah, they are taking a break for summer because most/all of the fields are planted. I think next weekend is the last meeting (which you could join if you like). Who knows though, there are probably places that can still be hunted summer. I can check with PL. As far as detecting outside of official detector meetings I dont think so. They go almost every weekend when the fields are good and many weekdays so usually it is not something I asked for. That said, PL often lets us stay as long as we like on the fields once he leaves. The main issue I suppose is how well- he knows the farmer and what kind of agreement they have. Of course, there are a few hard core members that I am sure would take you to their sites when you get to know them.

Not sure how old the ring is. My guess is 17th or 18th century. The museum returned it to me in any case.

Detecting in Denmark is a blast and the Odsherred club is comprised of great people. Send Per Lars an email and tell him you spoke with me (Erik), or just let me know if you have other questions.

What depth do you get with the 12x13 coil compared to the 10.5" coil?

Erik!

I will send Per Lars an email, would be great to join the club.Is it this saturday-sunday you talking about?

Cheers/Mike

I am not 100% certain that they are going this weekend, but I seem to recall that is the plan. If I can make it this weekend (Saturday or Sunday) I will, but it looks like I might be visiting some friends in J
