Compadre making continuous pulsing tone....

Like the title says, my new-to-me Compadre makes this pulsing tone. If I pick the coil up and away from the ground it will quit after a bit. It quits if I turn the disc all the way up. Is this just interference from power lines etc or is it reacting to my stupid high mineral level soil? Thanks!

?From what you're describing, it sounds like a coil problem. Check to see if the connector's tight and that there are no places on the coil or coil wire that may look cut or mashed, especially if it does it everywhere you go. It's not normal and you may have to send it back.

Slingshot, the coil on the Compadre is hard-wired in. Wires look OK too. Hope it's not the coil-
Gunnar, the first thing I did was change the battery.
I'm going to haul it out away from the house and see what it does. Plenty of wires over the house in addition to high mineralization may be jacking with this machine. I understand that the Tesoros are pretty sensitive to overhead wires and other EM interference.

Note: it's been wayyy too hot and miserable to much outdoors stuff lately.

Anybody remember?? I think the machine had to goto the MD hospital.

I reckon its most like EMI as my Compadre plays up at one particular totlot due to a Large antenna , it just constantly chatters but move away an its ok .... as you say theres a lot of wires above your house so its seems the likely cause
