Compadre

About two years ago I ordered a Compadre from Al's Discount Detectors for a long time hunting buddy, Jim, to give his 10 year old son. A couple of days after it arrived Jim and I went to hunt an old stagestop and inn site and he took it to try out. Right off he found an 1831 dime, next trip out he got a 1776 half reale. His son hasn't got to use it yet, but Jim has found more old coins with it than anyone else I know in this area since he started using it. Today we hunted an old homesite in a cotton field, he found the coin in the pic. It's silver, the size of a half dime and has 1835-1880 on it. Anyone know anything about it? The Compadre may be the cheapest detector Tesoro sells, but there's nothing cheap about it's performance <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">.

the compadre is great! I found hammered silver coins that other detectors missed.
I have to admit that my pantera is more sensitive to veeeery! small silver coins but then again the pantera is of course a different detector with manual GB ETC,ETC.
For the money the compadre has top performance.

My compadre has found me 3 cannon pieces in the last 2 years, and several older coins.
Well, congrats on your find and I'll post a bullet that I found in The Battle of MorrisMill, later!!
