Compare notes

Rob (IL)

New member
I'm curious how my fellow Illinois hunters are doing with their V's. Much of our ground is mineralized and has iron. If you want to compare notes drop me a PM. Let me know what you are finding and how deep. Oh, and let me know where you are located.

I don't think it will be that interesting for guys not in our area, hence the PM request.[attachment 232909 Untitled-1.jpg]

Actually I would like to hear the back and forth on that. I live near the beach and notice that I get better results when in beach mode rather than coin n jewelry. I assumed its because of the mineralization.

I attempted to get in touch with guys who were in my area and therefore who would be hunting in ground that is the same as mine. You aren't missing anything because there is nothing taking place.

I'm surprised that people who have had their Spectras for years are still complaining about performance. This is on the other V forum. Part of the problem is they are trying to run programs that were set up in non mineralized "sweet" Florida soil. Then when the performance is lacking the first remark is, " I think I am going to send in my detector".

Make adjustments to improve performance. Don't make adjustments just because someone else made them. Why make an adjustment if you don't know why you are doing it.
