I did a search of Roaring Twenties and checked out the Roaring Twenties ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roaring_Twenties )
The change of morals back then was the result of people wanting to forget World War I (they also forgot God). There were the Flappers of the 20's:
"The term flapper in the 1920s referred to a "new breed" of young women who wore short skirts, bobbed their hair, listened to the new Jazz music, and flaunted their disdain for what was then considered acceptable behavior. The flappers were seen as brash for wearing excessive makeup, drinking, treating sex in a casual manner, smoking, driving automobiles, and otherwise flouting conventional social and sexual norms."
Gee, does that sound familiar in today's society?
Only the crash of 1929 ended the morals of the 20's then came the depression.
Where are we today? Stock Market is about to crash again. If so then another depression.
Our nation cannot continue to turn its back on God and expect 'God bless America'....we already were blessed - now it reaping what one sows time.
There is a saying "If one does not learn from history, he is doomed to repeat it". What is not being learned is history shows turning away from God and turning instead to the desires of the flesh, to other gods and living like there is no tomorrow does not have a good ending...unless that ending is repentence and returning again to the One True God.
2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Hos 6:1 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
Mat 13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
OK getting off my soapbox.
Blessings
Pete
