does the vibra probe 580 react adversally with tesoro's detectors, namely the vaquero and the silver umax?i have read that some brands have a problem working together.bye for now, blowfly

Blow, I can't say for sure with the Vibra line of pulse units. What I can tell you is that the Garrett Pro point and my Cutlass uMax can have trouble getting along some times. Its most noticeable when the battery is getting low on the Cutlass. Sounds like a wooo wooo wooo woo type sound. The Pro pointer being a pulse unit like the Vibra series.

No the good is that it hasn't bothered me enough to stop using the two together. After locating with the Tesoro I usually do not need to reacquire, at that point I rely on the Pro pointer to find it.

Hope this helps,

I know that the vibra probe I used to have drove all my Tesoro detectors nuts, I think it was a 560??? I got rid of it and went with the Garrett pro pointer, it also affects them but only if it is pretty close to the coil.

i'm looking for an alternitive pinpointer.i have had three garrett pro pointers in two years. they keep failing and at $150.00 aud a pop,i'm looking for something thats going to last a bit longer.my supplier told me you shouldn't get the pro's wet, well in wet muddy conditions for a semi sealed unit,it's a fizzle.it allows the ingress of water and dirt which eventually kills them.my last one gave a the ghost after two months and was told that i had got dirt in it by my supplier.blowfly

Mines been acting up with random fits and the swith has been being a real pain in the butt lately. Kinda looking forward to minelabs rumored pin pointer that we keep hearing about.

Until then I'm going to send my pro pointer back under warranty. Its gonna kill me though. I really dont think I can go back to hunting without it lol

I've had my pro pointer a couple of seasons now with never a problem..but...as soon as I got it I took a piece of bicycle inner-tube and put it over the speaker hole to silence it a bit. This may have kept dirt out of the works...dunno.

My Propointer is sealed in a Foodsaver vacuum bag. Keeps it mud-free and completely waterproof.
