First, let me say I realized I had the Freedom III with an adjustable (finely) disc. control and I had it to where tabs would just barely click. So to compensate for this, I had the Ace in a comparable mode I discovered months ago and even posted it-but no one seem interested. It's basically the jewelry mode, but with the FIRST tab icon ONLY turned off. This rids most of the regular tabs-except for the square, high conductive ones-and is HOTTER on coins in trash. See the moon-shaped zincer that had been clipped by a lawn mower on the right? It hit in the NEXT tab icon-as did several mangled screwcaps. For what it's worth, keys, zipper pulls, and class rings hit on the NEXT icon up (right below zinc penny). I'm glad Garrett left it in on the coins mode. The Ace MATCHED the Freedom III in every area except sweep speed. I know the Ace goes deeper the faster it's swung, but in a serious hunt plan on tossing sweep speed out the window. The 7" groundhog coil was quicker when good targets were close together. I had to slow the Ace down to match it-but now I know my detector better. It excelled over the Freedom III in the nickel area not only in depth but in clarity of signal. As you can see, after I learned a little more about my detector, I found a few coins EXTRA I had previously missed at this spot. The knife was a nice finale for the Ace. Oh, and hunting in near darkness, khouse, helps learn the Ace sounds better

Love the pocket knife!
Happy Hunting!
It is a seemingly faster kabong than the Ace and may be due to the 7" coil-maybe if youl have the sniper coil you can tell me if the bong sounds faster than with the standard 6X9. I'm telling ya', the 7" coil is a go-getter and I covered the 3 hunt fields in the competition hunt WHILE the others were still in the first field. I sat at the finish table for 30 minutes while the hunt continued. With the disc set to just click on tabs, it was hot on the penny targetss-which were multi-colored and with the fast response I didn't even use the pinpoint trigger! I've already repaired the coil wire, which had slipped in the socket and the wires were rubbing against metal, causing some signal response while hunting. Garrett installed a whole new wiring harness about 10 years ago. I'm gonna try to find some fiberglass and remold the torn housing.. Don't know why I've let it set for so long.
