Completely bummed out with Fisher........

What a week from hell! Stress at the office, family in the hospital, crap load of snow, BUT I got my brand new F75 LTD scheduled to be delivered today, well actually yesterday but the snow stopped UPS cold. I get home and see the box on the steps and all the headaches melt away. I take it out of the containter, then open the Fisher box and stare in awe at my expensive new toy!!! Then without even removing it from the box I see something wrong??? The screen is completely snapped off from the handle!!! I called the dealer who was great and very responsive, kudos to him and his customer service. He puts me in contact with Fisher and a specific customer rep. The customer rep takes some of my information and says I will email you a UPS label shortly so you can send it back to us tomorrow and that they would put me a new one in the mail Monday. However he says let me double check the stock and call you back to get the rest of the details. The guy never called back, I called back twice and even left a message on his voice mail and finally they were closed. Hopefully they will follow through with their promise and get me a new one out Monday but they should have called me back today as promised. Again no problems with my dealer, he was apologetic and quck to help out.

That is a bummer. It is tough setting there in limbo, so to speak, but rest assured, you will get taken care. Mike Scott, it appears somebody dropped the ball. HH jim tn

Bg64vw,

If you don't get a response Monday let me know. I have 150% faith in them to make it right! Sorry again about the machine. Wish I could do more to get you something to play with this weekend. Least air testing (with all your snow) it anyway.

Bart, I appreciate it and no sweat.Your pricing and service are unbeatalbe and I wouldnt steer anyone from purchasing an F75 LTD, too many people like them and I know I will too. To be fair I'm not dogging out Fisher. I am still completely excited to get a new F75 LTD. I just hate the fact that the guy left me hanging. Actually he said would I like to hold on the phone while he checks stock or call me back and I said whatever is convenient for you and he said he would call me back and inferred this would be minutes not 2 hours later and the place had closed shop. Plus no email of the UPS label. Im a regulator and public servant. I know sometimes good companys cannont account for everything their employees do and that gets them in trouble and yes it is Friday afternoon but bottom line I wanted to get it back in the mail tomorrow and have the matter lined out. Instead Im left haning all weekend and will have to re-initiate the issue Monday morning.

I completely understand. I don't blame you a bit. Probably not the best way to handle the situation on his part. It will work out. I will make sure of it.

I am sure this story will have a happy ending, but man when you said you opened that box and the screen was snapped off I got a real sinking feeling. Hang in there you still have some time before hunting season sets in.

I guess I can put in another weekend researching at the historical society and let the snow melt....

Wow.....why didn't the dealer replace the machine. It came busted from him didn't it. My dealer would have replaced it immediately.

Not saying you will not get serviced..You will, but Dealers usually handle broken on delivery machines.. Just my thought on the matter.. Not etched in stone of course.

Elton,

I already spoke with him about this. I cant get it to him any faster than the factory can. I called Fisher and they wanted to take care of it. My hands are tied. I truly feel sorry for him. I know how it must feel to have a broken machine. I wish I could do more for him .

Hey folks, I would do business with Bart and Big Boy Hobbies again in a heart beat. I called him, he called the factory then immediately called back with what steps to take. He did his part and hes right. Plus Bart gave me an unbeatalbe deal on a brand new unit.

I wonder if the same kind of "I'll take care of it" thing didn't happen in Texas. I can see the guys answering the phone telling somebody who told him, "I'll take care of it". Let's hope that the whole thing blows over on Monday when everyone gets back to work and they figure out that nobody took care of you. It is a bummer for sure, but thank goodness the weather isn't perfect or that you are traveling to a hunt this weekend. I am sure it will be taken care of by Fisher. Sorry that your detector arrived trashed. You might want to take a few photographs of it before you repack the box. Just a thought for future reference.

Sounds like you gotta lot on your plate pal, sorry to hear about it...Customer service is VERY important with all the options out there, I used to run a crew of customer service people, and I'd tell them to call folks back even if you dont have an answer yet..you got 15 minutes to either put out a fire and be a hero, or burn down the house! I'd try to hire folks that had that cheerful, helpful demeanor, you know, like a big golden retriever has...one guy I used to intorduce this way, "This is Dennis, your customer service rep, he's like a big golden retriever, always looking to please"! After about a dozen times of hearing me introduce him this way, he said to me, "I wish you wouldn't keep comparing me to a dog" I said, "why not? its a complement"! He said, "Yeah, but maybe then the customer will think I'm the one who steals their newspaper, and craps in their yard"!

My prior post was an uncalled for reflection on his dealer. I didn't know the facts, and I should not have made that post. I apologize to both parties.

Sometimes no matter the intentions you put your foot in your mouth.. My intentions were to convey a message of my past experience. Not slam a fine dealer like Bart.

Sorry men !

Elton

Sorry for your troubles. But I must say in my opinion, which really doesn't count for squat, that your dealer should be the one taking care of this and handling all the headaches with Fisher. I know for a fact that my local dealer would have. I'm sure that Bart at bigboys is a nice guy and everything but that is where the money was spent and customer service starts with him. Good luck!!!!

Ever see that commercial on TV where this big burly guy answers the phone " hello ... my name is Peggy ... how can I help you"
Then puts the guy on hold so he can finish watching his TV show.

Luckily its a snowy weekend so I hit the historical society again for some more good leads and went to see a local collection of civil war artifacts that one of my dads friends has and I didnt even know he detected. I think detecting was a passing fancy of his one year, maybe two. Anyway most of his finds came from one breastworks site. There was well over 100 bullets, some carved like chess pieces, rusted utensils, a breast plate, 10-12 buttons (one still had thread on the shank and another had gilding), j-hooks, brass triangles, a ring, pocket knife etc.... He said he found almost all this within the top 4 inches and that his Whites 6000 Pro probably didnt leave a thing. I keep hearing the local guys say we have hunted that out and I look at their detectors and they are 25 years old. Its why I wanted the F75 LTD to go deep at these so called hunted out sites. If this time next weekend I have my detector and a pocket full of bullets, all will be forgotten...........

Post up some pics of those bulletts my friend..we all want to see them..

Well if I have my F75 back next weekend I promise to post something because Im going to be out hitting spots Ive researched. I just wish I had taken pictures of some of the carved bullets I saw today. I was amazed at some of the detail!
