Concentric vs DD, a different perspective>

The Magician

So the different perspective here is ground noise rather than depth. My experience with some gold detectors were that even though the detector might be quiet, that doesn't mean it's not affected by ground noise.

Not sure how much this translates to park hunting with VLFs, park dirt is brought in and is usually quiet soil... I think. Plus disc mode hunts silently allowing you to not notice ground conditions unless you're waaay out of ground balance.

So how and how much are concentric coils affected by park soil mineralisation? I haven't been able to do tests because I don't have a concentric and a DD of the same size and shape to compare. But I've always found this interesting.
