Confederate Saddle Shield?

Think my buddy found a Confederate saddle shield today. Please chime in if you can confirm that's what this is...

Good finds indeed Richard. I've never come across one. Love that CS



Havent seen pictures of many solid CS shields ...... meaning without the leather strap slit (i guess thats what i'd call it)
