Confused on all the different F75's. Does the new LE version have a new processor that handles EMI better than the SE and Camo versions?

Critterhunter is a walking metal detecting bible - Nice detective work!

Thanks for the kind words. Just trying to help people out is what I always try to do. Besides, from what I'm hearing from a long time friend who has had a vast many years and machines under his belt, this machine has got my interest. I've watched it for years, waiting for certain things to be worked out, to live up to the potential I've heard rumors to (potential it showed in some sites versus others). This may just be added to my line up and another friend's, but like many of you I'm sure, I was frustrated by the confusion as to which machine does what or has issues with what.

Fisher should have kept the same name and just designated different versions of the F75LTD via a hardware and software version #. All the confusion has probably kept a lot of people from trying this machine for the first time, or even going back to it to give it another chance. I know I don't want to buy something, used or new, unless I know it's the latest version with any potential fixes having been done. They should clearly state on their site just what the latest model is in both hardware and software, and also dealers should be up on this list so they can be sure to get people what they are looking for.

Yea, I'm obsessed with reading and researching detectors and coils, and also doing my own you tube comparisons, but to me it's almost as much fun reading up on and researching coils or detectors than it is going out for a hunt. Well, wouldn't say that...Both are two completely different kinds of fun for me, like reading a good book versus going to the movies. Some days I want to detect, and other days I want to kick back and dig up some stuff on the net to contemplate and contrast with other opinions.

PS- I talked to my friend concerning the remark he made about the machine being prone to being fooled by pull tabs at depth as being coins. If I heard him right (I had a few beers in me when we were talking on the phone  :beers: ), he said it was the prior year old model he just sold that was doing that, and that he hasn't used this latest one just bought yet to see if that's an issue for it too. BUT, turns out anyway that the type of tab he was describing, being an old tab I'm well aware of, is rather rare at most of our old sites. It wasn't made for every long. Point being- I know of that tab and have dug it on other machines which were fooled into it being a coin. So it's not about the F75 special edition having a particular fault probably from what I'm hearing, but rather just a particular rare old tab that will fool any machine. At least that's what I think might be the case here, but don't take my word for it until I talk to him again and dive deeper into the particulars of the hows and whys.

Also, this latest one- He hasn't used it much yet in the field due to the bad weather, but here's one that should interest you- He said he turned it on in his house and it's quiet as a mouse. Sounds to me like it's perhaps even a bit better in EMI than his prior model which he also said was fine in EMI compared to prior models. Any machine you can turn on in the house and not have it playing Star Wars sound tracks of R2D2 chattering off has got to be handling EMI well.

Good info once again. I have one of the earlier camo LTD version 7.6 models and only on a couple of spots do I have emi issues. One is near a fire station. But, I can turn mine on in the house with high sen setting and don't "hear star wars" being played. Anyway, thanks again for sharing. HH jim tn

Don't forget to adjust your settings after you check the version # Jim!!!!!

Critterhunter------I P.m.'d you and thanked you for that info you provided & we talked some in depth concerning the F-75.-------But I just wanted to thank you publicly also for going to the work (and effort) of that very informative post.-----I'm sure many of us really appreciates it.--------Del

Just so there is no confusion and not giving credit where it's due, I didn't write those messages, but rather just posted what a friend sent me privately, after having of course stripped any names or mentions of comparison to other detectors out of it. I've tipped him off to you guys being very happy with the info he provided, so he's got your thank you for sure.
