Connetor for the Excalibur battery Pod?

I notice that my screw on collar that connects to battery pod from the control pod does not have an O-ring or seal of any kind. I had some corrosion products on one pin indicating some leakage. This does not seem normal to me, is there supposed to be as seal of some kind.

yes there should be a rubber washer in there between the conector and battery, it sits over the pins, you could rob the one of the charger adapter if it has one

you can use tube lube to fill the connector and then use liquid black tape around the top of connector, this has helped me,then just snug connector onto battery..
good luck

Hey John,
I looked up " Tube Lube " to see what you were using on your detector and all these porn sites popped up all over the place .....What the heck are you doing with your detector ? .... .....Jim

hey jim
its a silicon lubricant, you can get it from a pool supply, its name is called tube lube....it works great,i coat the connetor really good and it keeps the water out..as i said before ive not had any problems since doing this, now clean up is a mess at times but id rather take a extra few mins to clean up after being out for a few days then not..
hope this helps out
good luck
john

Thanks Guy's,

I took the gasket from the battery charger connector, it's a little beat up but in one piece. It should do the job until I can round up a new one. Big low tide tomorrow and I am getting the gear ready.

a bit of silicon grease will help it survive a bit longer and help it keep out the water

Thanks, I have silicon grease that I use, I got it with a Sea Hunter I traded for sometime back. Its always good to be reminded however, as much as I forget things these days.

Thanks John.....I appreciate the info .....Never heard of the stuff before ....Good to know !!....Jim
