Conscience -

God gives us free will, but I believe He speaks to us and guides us through our conscience.

God speaks to us in many ways, but if our consience is seared and hardened from doing what we would rather do and refuse to listen and do what He wants us to do.....then NO a person in that condition cannot go by their conscience for they don't have one! So, the old saying, Let your conscience be your guide is only for those who love Jesus and know the truth of God! When hearing the voice of God, His Sheep know His voice and won't follow another....but those who aren't His Sheep will follow the voice of Satan!

God Bless!

i think our conscience is a God given free will gift. Before written laws I'm sure some cave mans conscience kept him from clubbing another one.

i feel the conscience is one way of God letting us know certain things. feelings to. but I guess that goes with conscience. example. a friend wanted me to go with them somewhere for the weekend. there were several friends going. i was all for it...then at the last minute when he came to my door for us to go i got a real bad feeling about it. i decided not to go and stay home. good thing i did. wasnt the best trip and there lives got real hard after. I feel God protected me that day.

That was the Holy Spirit of God warning you, dobbie, and you listened which kept you safe within Jesus' protective love! If it doesn't feel, smell, taste, feel or look right...leave it alone by not eating, drinking, participating or joining with the wrong crowd!

God Bless!

Yes, dobbie, I too have ignored the warnings and suffered the consequences for doing so.....but we all must learn and know His voice and Holy Spirit's leading to be obedient! We are still in human flesh and our flesh is weak, but our spirit is willing when we love and honor our Lord and Savior, Jesus!

God Bless!

This may sound a little odd to some but this is what I do. From experience I have learned that all voices that you hear (figuratively) are not the Holy Spirit. Many times it is easy to discern which is and which is not, sometimes it is more difficult. Your "Conscience" is very useful, but not divine. The Word on the other hand ALWAYS leads me in the right direction. When I am faced with a choice that is unclear I always go to the Word.
What I do is pray for guidance and then flip my Bible open, just arbitrarily, and start reading. It is almost never that the answer is not just staring me in the face in the first few verses. When it is not so clear I usually decide NOT to decide until it becomes clear, and it usually does so when I understand the verses I am reading better.

OK, now everybody can go "Ooooo" .... :)

That's the way to get an answer and find out what we should or should not do! The Word speaks to us when seeking and asking for understanding of God's holy will! Jesus is the Living Word and by God's Holy Spirit we are led into all truth! But until we study to show ourselves approved of God, we will make mistakes and learn from those mistakes unless it is one that causes us imprisonment or death! Our God is an awesome God and He speaks to us in many different ways.....even through sinners....when we need an answer right away! We need to be spiritually prepared to know when He gives it to us! :)

God Bless!
