Considering an E-TRAC

I currently own the Minelab Safari, love it and have had outstanding results, and have become very profecient with it,but am now considering an E-TRAC. Are there any former Safari owners out there that have made the switch? Is it worth the extra $$$? Is the depth/sensitivity the same? How about descrimination? I was told that the Safari is basically an Explorer/E-TRAC without the added options but is it? Talked a bit with CTTodd about this and he seems to really love his E-TRAC.A plus for me is that I can use all of my existing accessories,(8'' FBS coil and Sunray probe),on an E-TRAC,thus saving me $$$. Thanks for your input!

Ive never used the Safari myself..Ive seen alot of guys and yours results. They seem to work great..In my opinion the safari is Not in the same class as the E-Trac..To Very diffrent machines..They are both FBS and that about as close as it gets. There is a large price diffrence between the 2 machines for a reason. You get what you pay for :) I personaly feel you will find more ,easier with the E-Trac..Lets see what some of the other folks think..Good luck Buddy,Always like reading your post..Hope to see you posting here real soon!!! HH

Just Get the E-trac, you will not go wrong. I have had mine for almost a year know, and have found more Silver coins & a Gold Coin with it than any other machine I have used in 41 yeas in this passion of mine. Turn it on and go. Just have a very long digging tool, you will need it as this machine goes deep. HH...Jesse.

Thanks for the replies! Very interesting comments and ideas.I'm thinking that upgrading is the way to go as I want to be satisfied as we all are that i'm using the best tool for the old iron infested areas that abound here in New England.Where I hunt, it is not like the Youtube videos in an old park or field and trash/descrimination is a real issue. Is all of the ''nulling'' really on iron or am I missing that Seated Liberty half that was on edge near a large chunk of ferrous junk? You see my point. The MUCH more powerfull processor may be the tickett? CTTodd is a real pro here on these forums and will be graciously letting me try out his E-TRAC this weekend on our group hunt and i'm really looking forward to seeing the results. He knows his stuff and recommends his detector above all others.Check out his video on Youtube as he hunts the same type of areas that I do here in New England and the results speak for themselves!
