Control box question

New member
Hello I scored a nice scorpion....it's like new and when I clip the control box on the shaft it's loose and wobbly. Is this common. Just seems the 2 tabs on each side of the pole isn't a tight connection and I rather not try to bend the bracket....any ideas. Thanks

Hey JJ,
I understand about not wanting to bend bracket. Can you evenly shim
the air spaces between bracket and unit to take away the wobble by
using 1/16th or 1/8" small plastic shims or something like?
Just a suggestion . I own a MINT Gold Scorps. also but have
very minimal time on her but heard they are really good units for their time
and STILL find the goods...

Thanks silverseeker that's a great idea I have some rubber washers that may do the trick. I only have one chance to mess with it in my test garden...it pretty much hit everything but it was running a little unstable. I need to tune it in alittle more... the volume knob has me kinda confused because it's really not a volume knob is it ?

JJ,
I have a couple hours on mine and learned tuning this unit
requires a little more effort than most. I had called Sue at
Garrett and she explained how to set this machine up correctly
as the manual was very fuzzy on this subject. Not hard really.
I guess the more we use them the more we'll learn about them.
Call Sue at Garrett and she will be more than happy to explain
how to set up. Make sure you have machine with you when you call
and have it ready to turn on and I'm sure she'll walk you thru
this procedure and you'll know much more then and it only takes
a few minutes. Garrett has GREAT customer Service.

Remove the spring clips and replace them with two nylon screws with wing nuts.

Great idea too...been to busy to mess around with it. Hopefully sometime soon. Thanks everyone for beeping in !
