This is just my 2 cents worth. But I see every now and then people are being taken for there hard earned money. One of the approaches I use when dealing with people selling goods is to ask them if they use EBAY. If they do I ask them what there userid is and look it up to determine if they are a honest seller or buyer. I myself have over 430 positive feedbacks and will glady give out my user id if I ever decide to buy anything from anybody offline of ebay so they can verify my honesty. Once again this is just my 2 cents worth hope it helps.

Good idea, but if people are dishonest they would more than likely give you someone elses ID. Believe it or not I ave actually used your suggestion before. Good tip........Aaron

You can look up their feedback score, but not their user ID, by their e-mail address. It will just tell you that the e-mail address is to a registered user with a feedback score of XX. Now look up their user ID that they gave you, if these 2 numbers match, they are probably telling the truth. I use this method also. eBay recently cahnged to this system, as before you could look up a members user ID by their e-mail address, now they just give you the score.

I know they just recently changed something because when you look up a seller or bidder, it gives you possible matches that are close to the name. Neat feature. thanks for the info!........Aaron
 
And you should never have a problem. I do not believe a scam artist would survive long on this forum. Our fellow members are quick to point out rip offs. Supporting this forums Dealers supports not only their business, but it keeps this forum up and running. Ebay appears more interested in protecting the fraudulent than the innocent victims. Last night I visited Ebay. There are so many fake arrowheads for sale it's a crime. Most that are sold in frames under the heading of "Arrowhead Collection" are nothing more than darts coming out of Africa by the tens of thousands. These are being sold as authentic, Native AMERICAN artifacts! Do you wonder why we in the collecting community refer to them as E-Fake? Caveat Emptor!
