What is your coolest non-detected find while you were digging a signal.

mine were marbles and a Duke U. gold ball

These are just some that I found this year. If I find a deserving youngster I will give these away as I have for years past. The brown marble is the oldest of the bunch and a collectable. HH Dennis in Idaho

I've also found marbles when detecting. I figure that's a great bonus when there's a coin and a marble in one hole. Nice collection of marbles Dennis....... Gee, guess you haven't lost your marbles. HH, Nancy

Don't know about cool but weird definitely.
I was detecting at a place called Kingower and finding some nice little nuggets up to a few grams when I got this signal.
I dug down about six inches and my scream of horror and disgust at what I found myself holding, very briefly (a micro second or I like to think that was all it was for) was a , umm, lets just say a "male orientated sex toy". Must have heard my yell for miles I reckon. I guess diggers get lonely too!
But it gets weirder. That night I'm back at camp and tell my mate about it, he bursts out laughing in tears and then says I should team up with his mate Brian. I ask him why and dead set true, the day before he dug up a "female orientated one". He reckoned we would make the perfect match. You reckon I didn't bear the brunt of a thousand jokes over the next month or so for that!

I may not have lost my marbles yet, but I may loose them sitting in the house until the spring thaw. HH Dennis in Idaho

Hey Crabby I was reminded of this odd target from a posting on hunting clams with a clam gun Back in 1965 or so, I was hunting the surf line at Huntiington Beach (CA) north of the pier with an old Fisher 1265 and noticed getting a lot of distinctive nullings. l read somewhere that nulls could be deep targets just beyond the depth limit of the detector. I dug one of the nulls and up comes a 4 inch Pismo clam. Well, it happened there was a guy close by punching the sand with a pitchfork to find these clams. Anyway, it ended up that I found his limit of 3 of the 6 inch legal clams in about five minutes by just listening for the biggest nulls. This guy was jumping up and down with joy because these were the first legals he got in two days of hunting. Happy hunting...Later in the week I won five dollars from a guy in our detector club by proving to him how well this trick worked...Happy hunting.

I have found allot of marbles, I think they are cool....

Howdy Y'all

I dug up an Indianhead penny one time about 5 inches deep. While I was sifting around in the dirt for the coin, I kept seeing a small triangular shaped white collored rock about one inch long come to the surface of the dirt pile. I finally found the indianhead penny, then turned my attention to the small 'rock', it turned out to be a small arrow head, made of chert, I believe they are called bird points.I thought that was pretty neat! One day while nugget hunting in the desert I got a modest signal. As I began to dig it, a small "pearly" (white pearl-colored) scorpion scrambled from the hole I was digging. These particular scorpions are tiny, but can be deadly. After watching it dash away, I then recovered a small nugget from the hole. Cool. Shortly thereafter, some distance away, the exact same thing happened. Another signal, another pearly, another nugget. Since I may not see one pearly in ten outings, encountering two back to back was unusual. Later that day, I got a signal, and as I removed some small rocks from the target site, a THIRD pearly scuttled out from under one of the rocks. Yep, digging the signal got me another nugget. Three pearlies, three nuggets. The COOLEST thing about these "finds" (the pearlies) was none of them stung me. And, oh yeah, they all lived to tell the tale of the giant who dug them up. HH Jim

I love stories with a happy ending.
