Copper cap for something

Sonorguy

Member
Found this cap thingy out in the woods, near an old camp site, hunters I'm guessing.
any ideas? there is a tiny pin on the shaft part...
also the musket ball (unrelated) has a strange groove on one side, and never dug one so shiny b4, any explanation there?
thanks a bunch!

yes the copper cap is off of a powder measure for black powder, the ball is probably more modern I'm guessing a camp of muzzle loader hunters .
Just my thoughts.

Cool! thanks guys. I got slammed by two hornets after I dug this. Lost my glasses and detector for awhile in the get away..lol but snuck back around and recovered them after things settled down.
