Cord Length...Any Difference?

Tico

Member
Do you think theres any performance difference between coils with short Cord vs. Long Cord on CZ's.
I've had both, never really paid much attention
I read a post way back where somebody thought there was a slight diff.

Too slight to measure I am sure. I like the short cord 'cuz I don't like my detector looking like a hangman's noose.

I may be wrong but it seems like to me the white coils get better depth to me I don't see why they would but I have found deeper coins with them. The same thing on my older 1266x. As far as cord it may effect the depth somewhat. Did they ever make a depth master box for the CZ'S for the headphones to plug into? I know it worked on my old 1266x!

I noticed this in some pictures that some detectors have longer cords, yet look to be the same models, why are some longer or shorter anyway?

The shorter coil cables were designed for the CZ7A (shaft mounted only) as compared to the longer 7 foot cables which are used on CZ detectors that can be hipmounted (CZ5, CZ6A. CZ3D etc.)

I really don't know but my present CZ6A came used with a 3 foot cord and will hit a clad dime at about a foot and not changing coils to find out as one of the deepest CZ's I ever owned and used every model ever made.. If you don't hipmount a short cord doesn't have all the extra cord wrapped around the rod and who knows does all those twists and turns result in less depth...Sure makes for a neater looking unit and a little less weight...
I believe they are made in both short and long cord versions but a call to Fisher would give you an answer...
