Corpus Christi Treasure hunting

kiva

New member
Just joined the forum. I am returning to metal detecting after many years of absence. I was just wondering if anyone knows where we are allowed to metal detect in Corpus Christi, Texas. Texas seems to be pretty strict on where you can and cannot search. If there are any Texans out there please help. Thanks.

Kiva, I have lived in Corpus Christi since 1975 and have metal detected off and on.
I am mostly a beach and water hunter but also search school grounds and parks.
If you wish to call or stop by for a visit we can talk about where to hunt and metal detectors.
I have a good assortment of land and water detectors and if you wish you may try them to see which suits you.

I believe there is a stretch that is considered a National Park and MDing is prohibitied.
Other areas, I am told, are open to detecting. Never been there myself, but was interested
a few years back. Thats when I found out about the National Park.

Thanks Willie. I'll get back with you on that. The info was great. At the moment I don't have a metal detector. My son is giving me one for Christmas. I'm excited! It's been many years since I have done this. Thanks again for the information.

Are you from the area, Katz? If so, are there any metal detecting clubs that you know of? I think there use to be but I can't seem to find it anymore.

Not from the area. I was interested in going there awhile back. Maybe I'll get there
someday. I called around first and was told about the National Park stretch was off limits.

I'd call some of the Medetal detector stores out there. Maybe they can direct you to the
clubs.
