I have to admit I am a shallow person who is most of the time thinking about myself. I am wrong for this and ask forgivness....However it is not to late to tell you all on this forum how greatful I am that you guys share with me and others your knowledge, experience and tallents. I/we are all blessed.

This forum represents the collective experience of all those who took the time to learm their machines, have the fortitude to hunt under a wide variety of conditions, and most importantly, are willing to share their experience on this forum.
If someone were to categorize all the advise, most of the information would fall into the following nine broad categories.
1. Machine specific descriptions, comparisons, depth capabilities, stability, adjustments and tips.
2. Location specific hunting tips.
3 A narrative or visual record of findings.
4. Human interest about "lost and found".
5. Recovery techniques and tips.
6. Special recovery tools and custom tool fabrication.
7. Accessories and coils.
8. Machine modifications.
9. Technical design considerations and discussions.
These nine categories or chapters could be stuffed with time-tested information from the experts who are actually out there doing it. Anyone who wants reliable information about detecting, information about specific machine or tips to use a specific machine in a particular location can find it here. Granted it may not be as convenient as having all neatly bound in paper, but this is a living compendium of expert information that can be easily found by using the search capabilities. No metal detecting book that I have ever seen is as comprehensive, detailed and as interactive as the information on this forum.
We should be grateful to all those who share what they know and what they find. As an avid beach detectorist in the Fall and Winter, I get a Christmas present every day when I check out these forums.
