This part of the Park has seen erosion to an extent. I remember coming in the 50's to all the areas pictures, and they were not like this, but had grass, and more trees.

This Statue was re-done a couple of years ago. I was here in 1999 when the memorial had the original iron benches, and iron fencing surrounding the Statue. I had a low end detector then and hoped I would have had a crack at the area grounds with an Explorer XS. Since then a lot of fill was added and the area lost much of the original soil.... SAD.

Here is the erected information, 1932... I can see the cars of that era right in front on the side road they have there...

This is where the old benches and iron fencing that surrounded the memorial were, as you can see, it's all been redone and the original soil removed...
